Welcome to the website for the Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers Local 9PA. We are the Trowel trades union for Western PA. We represent Bricklayers, Stone Masons, Tile Workers, Terrazzo Workers, Marble workers, Pointer -Caulker -Cleaners, Cement Masons and Plasterers. Established in 1865, we are the oldest continuously operated building trades union in North America.
Our main office is located in Pittsburgh, with regional representative offices located in St. Marys, Coral, Johnstown, New Castle and Washington PA. Our staff is available Monday thru Friday from 7am to 4pm to assist you and our field representatives are available 7 days a week to assist members. Our Jurisdiction covers all of Western Pennsylvania.

For current members: Membership dues can be paid at chapter meetings or mailed into our office. You can also make arrangements for checkless payments by calling in your bank information. Remember to take advantage of the option to pay a years dues. If you pay 11 months at one time, the local will give you the 12th month free.
Please be sure to keep current in your membership dues and keep the office notified of any address changes, or changes in your member status. If you have retired or become a journeyman recently our office must be notified so that the amount of dues you pay can be adjusted. Please make the office staff aware of any changes in your membership status so you will be charged the correct amount for your monthly dues.
Interested in an Apprenticeship? BRICKLAYERS AND ALLIED CRAFTWORKERS LOCAL 9 PA JOINT APPRENTICE & TRAINING COMMITTEE accepts applications for the following trades: Bricklayer, Stone Mason, Pointer-Caulker-Cleaner, Tile Layer, Terrazzo Workers, Tile and Marble Finishers, Marble Masons, and Cement Masons. Applications are available at a Career Link (www.cwdsstate.pa.us) in your area or at our office at 100 Kingston Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. (412)825-0923 or 1800 238-0999 The minimum requirements are as follows: 1. Applicant must be of good moral character and be able to perform the physical work of the trade. 2. Be of legal working age. 3. Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D Certificate, a valad PA drivers license and a vehicle. 4. Applicant must take a written exam set up by the J.A,T.C. and attend a J.A.T.C. oral interview. 5. Applicant must pay a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 to be paid at the time of testing. 6. Applicants may be required to submit to a test for substance abuse. 7. Must be willing to attend an out-fof-state school for 12weeks. 8. Applicants must reside within the juirsdiction of B.A.C. Local 9 PA and the appropriate chapter for which they are applying. 9. Criminal record check. Applications are accepted throughout the year, new apprentices are brought in as needed. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS CAN BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO YOU IF YOU CALL AND MAKE THAT REQUEST. Get on the Scholarship Mailing List before your children become Juniors. The Bates Scholarship offered by the International is for JUNIORS who take the "PSAT" in October. There are several different scholarships with different requirements. Call our main office at 1-800-238-0999 to get on the list and be sure to call and let us know when you want to be removed from the list.
